Guizhou (2019)

Waterfall visit

  Guizhou, China

Posted March 12, 2019 by Dennis Stuebing

We started our first full day in Guizhou early, finishing our breakfast and meeting up at 7:45. Then we took the bus to the waterfall for our first activity of the day. The weather was pretty chilly so hiking up to the waterfall was extra difficult, however it was all worth it as the view and scenery was stunning. We walked back for a delicious lunch and prepared for our next activity of the day: tea picking. After another long bus ride, we arrived at the tea leaf plantation. In a few hours we learnt how to pick tea leaves, the process of cleaning tea leaves and we also tried many different types of tea. The locals and tour guides were extremely nice to us and were very professional, making sure none of us got lost or hurt. We went back to the hotel and wrapped up the day with a delicious dinner and some free time.

      Comment for March 12.
Today was a long day as we spent most time on bus. In the morning, we left Guiyang. We visited the Xi Feng Concentration Camp and heard about the story of the little reddish head, who lived forever in the camp. We visited a village in the afternoon to participate in the creativity activity of traditional paper making. The works were fantastic. We then transferred to Kaili and will stay in Kaili in the following days.
