Starting in the cool early morning mist, the TIS Tigers laid siege to the mountain and made it to their goal. The iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Perched on the side of a mountain at more than 3100 meters, student supported each other to reach the rewarding summit.
Later in the day students experienced Bhutan’s National sport, Archery, with traditional bows. Max and Owen were the sharpshooters of the day hitting the targets!
Afterward we were lucky to experience local cultural song an dance. The “Yak Herder” dance proved again to be the highlight of the show.
Afterward, our guides, Sangay and Sonam showed students how to cook Bhutan’s most famous food, “Chilli Cheese”. Was it hot? You betcha.
We enjoyed supper at a local farmhouse with traditional Bhutanese dishes. We capped off the day with a visit to the Paro Fortress for a view at night.
We need to say goodbye to this amazing country. A huge thanks to Sangay, Sonam, Dechen, Ugyen, and Karma Yangchen from Etho Metho tours for making our stay here an unforgettable experience.
