Today both the students taking the Open Water course and Advanced Open Water course took to the water! The Open Water students did their swim and treading water test and all passed. They then started practicing their safety skills in the shallow water. Many of the Open Water students had to battle with sea sickness and overcome fears as it was their first time swimming in the ocean! This afternoon many of them were able to complete their first Open Water dive.
The Advanced Open Water students did three specialty dives today: Peak Buoyancy, Navigation and Fish Identification. They seemed to learn a lot and had quite a bit of fun too!
The students are absolutely exhausted tonight from all their hard work today. Tomorrow the Open Water students will continue to practice their skills and will have the opportunity to complete up to 3 more dives. The Advanced students will do two more specialty dives: Naturalist and Deep (where they will get to go down to 30m!).
