Today on our first full day, we woke up bright and early and started off our bus ride at 7:50AM. To our surprise, the two hour bus ride was not only intriguing ( thanks to Jacky’s explanation of Guizhou’s history) but fascinating as we passed by many beautiful fields of canola flower farms and mountains. We finally arrived at the Huangguoshu Waterfall at around 9am, and hiked all the way till 12:30. The hike was full of scenic views, many photographs, and lots of fun! After having a long hike, we had a delicious local Chinese lunch at a nearby hotel. After lunch, we took an hour bus ride to a local tea leaf plantation and not only learned how to pick tea leaves, but also tried many authentic Chinese teas. All in all, it was a cultivating experience as we were able to immerse ourselves into the local Chinese culture and learn about Guizhou’s history. Following a long day of activities, we travelled back to the hotel at around 7pm, had a wonderful dinner, and from then on rested.
