Hong Kong (2019)

Last minute packing preparations

  Macau, Macau

Posted March 8, 2019 by Martin Brown

An important message from The Hutong service provider regarding packing…

Equipment, Packing and Carrying:
Just wanted to remind the students about a couple of important items given the weather forecast:
– Thin base layers
– Waterproof outer layer
– Good footwear with grip as likely to be muddy in parts
– Water bottles (min. 2 L)
– Mug, bowl, cutlery for eating meals
– Sleeping bag (we provide tent)
A strong reminder to pack light. There are opportunities to wash clothes throughout the week. Students will also be carrying some food supplies as well as water for the hikes. Also on Day 3 and Day 4 we’d like to propose the additional challenge of students carrying their tents and roll mats on the hike. This is the sort of expectation of any expedition and while we can ease them into things on Day 1 and 2, we think it would be a good experience for students to hike and out with all they need for that 24 hour period.
