Macao 2: Local CAS Program

Jewellery Making and Mangroves Learning!

  Macau

Posted March 12, 2019 by sariputratong

On the first day of our experience week, we started our sluggish morning by making jewellery. Having a somewhat professional helping us create rings, necklaces and more. What an exciting moment it was for most of our fellow group members!

After lunch, we all headed to the University of Saint Joseph and learned so much about mangroves! We were taught about the significance of mangrove in the environmental aspect and the economic aspect, and why is it important to preserve them. Following the presentation, we got to take a closer look at the different species of mangroves, identifying its physical features to determine their difference in functioning. For example, the more cell-like pattern the leave has, the more stomata it has, which means it will be more efficient in photosynthesis, enhancing the air of our environment!
