Children’s happiness is quite simple; they are easily amused. Children are growing up; even if they make some mistakes, they could solve the problems quickly under the guidance of teachers. Taking care of the children requires a lot of patience, energy, and effort. But in fact they bring me a lot of fun. I have had a great experience this week. – Annie Hao, with PK 1
In my time in PK 5, I saw the importance of practicing good habits and possessing good values at a young age. Additionally, they are very observant so they notice small details. So it is important to discipline and be a good role model for them. This way, they are able to learn good morals and habits that they will continue on when they are older. At the same time, I think that they are very sweet to their peers and teachers. Not only do I teach them, but they also teach me how to be nicer to everyone. Overall, I’ve enjoyed my time in PK 5. – Aitana Macariola, with PK 5
Today, I was able to take an opportunity to look at how my Grade 5’s interact with the Pre-Ks. It is a very meaningful experience because it allows me to reflect upon how I interact with the Grade 5’s. Regardless, seeing my Grade 5’s being supportive and loving towards their buddies show me their kind and fun nature, which leads me to think about my ways of approaching the little kids. I know that I have to be authoritative to take a role of a teacher’s assistant, but also I have to be fun and open-minded to treat them like friends. – Juvina Chan, with Grade 5
This is my first year being a homeroom helper and all the kids are very kind and welcoming. So far my favorite part about being a homeroom helper is recess. During recess the kids always follow me around! It is a great experience being a homeroom helper. – Vanessa Liu, with JK 1
