Eager for their on campus day, group one participated in a variety of activities today, these included rock climbing, low ropes, and a cooking class.
Rock Climbing was something students looked forward to, because it was an event that they couldn’t back in Macau. Through the guidance of the expert, they learned how to put on a harness and belay commands. The climbing wall had three different levels – one was slanted outwards, another inwards, and finally, one was perpendicular to the floor. This activity was challenging for the students, yet it was a really good experience for all of them, also, it is a good life skill to have. The low ropes, unlike the name suggested, was actually very high in difficulty. It was here that they learned more about teamwork and the importance of it, because they have to balance on the obstacles, most of which required more than one person to do.
Also, for lunch, group one was able to participate in a cooking class, where they learned how to make traditional Thai food, such as curry, soup, and dessert. This was a fun activity for all, since it was the first time some of the students cooked for themselves. Once learning about all elements of the Thai dishes, students succeeded in creating their lunch for the day. Group one was able to rest after a long and tiring day by watching a movie that night, which was a relaxing end to the day.
