Today was the third day of this program and we had the chance to learn modern dancing from Joel, a local dance teacher in Macau. He showed a series of basic dancing movements for students to follow and learn. Then we were taught a choreography of a popular song in Hip Hop called “Sunflower” by Post Malone and Swae Lee. Although most of us weren’t looking for a career in dancing, it was still a memorable experience, as these dance moves may be useful someday. You never know!
Just like the the previous days, our afternoon activity was about mangroves. Our group was brought to the ecozone in Cotai to observe the different types of mangroves and the characteristics of their habitat. The scientists lead us to measure the pH levels and the salinity of the brackish water. Most importantly, we also had the opportunity to take a look at the birds which were living in the mangrove forest. It was marvelous to see that mangroves not only could prevent our lovely city to be flooded, but it also provides both local and migratory birds from tropical regions around the world to take shelter here. Having learnt these advantageous facts about mangroves, we can’t wait to plant them in our school on Friday!
