Today we left Thimphu and made the 1:45 hour trip back to Paro where we spent the day. We visited the Bhutan Museum and the Paro Dzong (Fortress).
After lunch, students had some free time to explore Paro on their own. We then went to see the 2nd highest mountain in bhutan, standing over 7500 meters.
We also got a glimpse of tomorrow’s goal, “The Tiger’s Nest”! As Max Cheong said, “You haven’t really come to Bhutan if you haven’t seen the Tiger’s Nest.” We checked into our new hotel in the mountains…beautiful.
Before supper, some local students in grade 10 wanted to come over to visit with the TIS students. They had a great time getting to know one another.
After a hearty meal, we’ve all gone to bed to rest up for tomorrow’s climb to the Tiger’s Nest. Go tigers!
