There are several kids in my assigned class whose homeroom helper I was when they were in SK, and I was amazed to see how much they have grown over the past two years. Noticing how they were reading books and completing assignments beyond their grade level made me realize the importance of diligence and willingness to be risk takers. I recalled some of my happy memories in grade two when I saw their enthusiasm in class, which motivated me to be more engaged in my role. I hope by the end of the week the class and I could learn more about each other. – Timothy Wong, with Grade 2-1
For the majority of today, my original homeroom teacher was absent. Therefore I had more responsibility in terms of looking after the children and making sure that they’re on task. During math class, there were a couple of individuals who were off task and having loud conversations with each other. I had to step in and separate these students, since they were not only distracting each other, but the students around them. I sat next to these students and made sure they were focusing by doing math equations with them together. – Leon Chen, with Grade 3-2
