Creativity, Activity and Service 2018 (Macao 3) - High School

Day 4: Mong Ha Eco-Centre

  Macau SAR China

Posted March 23, 2018 by Gordon Dalke

On this day the students learned about the difficulties of recycling in Macau.  There are challenges here because of the limited space for recycling facilities.  As a result, Macau ships recycleable materials such as bottles and cans and paper to China to be processed.

We then explored the reintroduction of local plants to the Macau ecosystem by planting Mint shoots. The staff instructed us in the proper planting techniques and the students received a sweet-smelling and tasting souvenir of their trip.

Afterwords, the students involved in Experience week worked on reflections and suggestions for next year and how they felt the goals of Expereince Week were being accomplished. There was heated, emotional discussions and valuable feedback and information was passed along to the staff to help with ideas for next year.

Tomorrow, we will attend the Special Olympic Centre and finish our elephants.
