Day one of Experience Week was a busy day of travel. We departed early in the morning from Macau via Airport ferry to Hong Kong, and then flew from Hong Kong to Zhengzhou in the afternoon. As soon as we were greated by our wonderful tour guides from The Hutong group, we instantly knew we were in good, caring hands! After arriving safely at our hotel, we checked in, participated in a mini Kung Fu lesson, ate a delicious meal together, and we celebrated one of our Grade 9 student’s birthdays! 🎂🎉 Then we headed off to bed because day #2 promised to be filled with loads of fun activities….spoiler alert: that promise indeed delivered!
Today, our Grade 9 students headed for some exciting Kung Fu training with the amazing and extremely talented Master Xie, after enjoying a delicious breakfast at the hotel. Everyone focused well, trained hard and learned lots of amazing techniques from Master Xie. 💪
After a rigorous morning work out, we headed to the Shaolin Temple. We toured the site around the Shaolij Temple before heading to lunch. After dining in a local restaurant, the students played a scavenger hunt game while touring the grounds of the Shaolin temple. This was quite a challenging task as our students were placed in small teams and asked to collect a plethora of information about this historic site. What a great way to learn all about the history of Shaolin! 👍
Next up, came the biggest task of the day! By biggest I mean a mountain sized task! Yes, we hiked all the way to the top of a rather large mountain in the afternoon! This hike is known as the Dharma Cave Hike. It is absolutely not an easy task, and I’m so proud of all our troopers that made it to the top. The view was epic! Well done, Grade 9s! ⛰
Finally, after heading back to town and enjoying a delicious meal, we saw an incredible live Kung Fu show at the Kung Fu Theatre right in our hotel. 😊Although the day was busy, it was truly a fantastic and memorable one! Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings! 😎

Hi hi,
Thank you for the interesting blog.
However, I couldn’t find the attached 8 photos for day 2. Maybe those are referring to the emoticons instead?? 😆😁😎
