Colonial Connections

Flying and More Flying

  Hong Kong, Dubia, Madrid, Spain

Posted March 12, 2017 by Seamus Murphy

As per our previous blog entry, our flight was delayed leaving from Hong Kong.  Since our new flight was at 6:30 Saturday morning, we couldnt leave the Hong Kong Airport.  As a result, we needed to stay.

But this is where our luck started to change.  Our airline (Emirate Airline) were able to hook us up with an airport lounge to stay in (Thanks Anna).  This included lots of food, drinks and the ability to charge phones :).  This made the pain much more manageable.  Then it was a self imposed 5:30 AM wake up call to catch our flight.  Finally, after over 7 hour delay…we were leaving Hong Kong !!!!!!

Now onto our flight to Dubai.  We were able to get caught up on movies and sleep.  The highlight included Mr. Brown trashing some TIS students in airline seat trivia.  We then made it to Dubai and walked straight onto our last flight.  After the second flight (a nice short seven hour flight) and we arrived in Madrid at 7 pm.  Then it was off to our hotel room to get ready for our first big day.
