After last night’s breathtaking performance at Nikulin circus, we are now moving on to Vladimir. On the road trip, we stopped by Sergiyev Posad, a town renowned for its rich history of being the religious capital of Russia during the 13th century. Entering the monastery, I saw more of the meringue shaped churches, they seem to be ubiquitous and in all variety of colours. Soon after, we had our first Russian meal. The Cossack’s diet is not much different from standard European cuisine. Here, I tried the world famous borscht soup, the robust aroma of beets and tomatoes hit my nostrils. After tasting, I find it rather citrusy and appetising. As for the main dish, it was the authentic Russian meatloaf served with penné, delicious!
