Hi Everyone,
It’s definitely been a LONG first day of the 2017 Laos Service Trip but a fulfilling one too. The day started bright and early, so early in fact that it really wasn’t even bright out yet! After meeting at the Macau Ferry Terminal at 5am, the group raced over to Hong Kong to catch the morning flight to Bangkok and then onwards to Luang Prabang.
With no hiccups while the group was in transit, we landed safely and with everyone accounted for in Laos and were promptly greeted by our guides from World Volunteer, who took us to our guest house.
After a brief pit stop at the guest house to freshen up and drop off some luggage, we were taken to an all you can eat dinner. The students filled up on excellent food and unwound a bit with some card games and the dart board that was in the restaurant. Following dinner, the group was brought to the nearby night market and were given time to shop and explore. We seem to be taking a very travel-savvy group, as many of the students wisely spent the time given to pick up last minute needs, such as elephant pants, sarongs, and extra toiletries for their next 4 nights at the village.
Now, we’ve arrived back at the guest house and are settling in for the night. We depart at 9am local time tomorrow (note: Laos time is -1hr compared to Macau time) and get ready for a 8km hike to the village from our bus drop-off point tomorrow.
Please note that for the next 4-5 days, blog entries will be sparse and brief while we are away from Luang Prabang. I will attempt to add a very brief entry each day.

Have fun in the village!
A small one sentence update, saying all are doing good should be fine. I do understand there will be connectivity issues in the village.
