Colonial Connections

Churches, Spanish Dancing and Turtles

  Sevilla, Spain

Posted March 16, 2017 by Seamus Murphy

What a day!!!!  We started with an early wake up call and a very fruity breakfast and a lot of meat.  With this powering us, it was into the town of Sevilla.  We started off with a tour of the giant royal castle.  This was where traders from all over the world went to trade with Spain.  These buildings showed how western culture mixed with the the culture of the Middle East.  We saw the gardens (were Game Of Thrones) was filmed.  All and all, it was an amazing sight.

We then checked out the Cathedral and saw where the body of Christopher Columbus are suppose to be kept.    We then ate lunch and it was off to the Aquarium.  The highlight was seeing the sharks and fish.  However, the standout star was the turtles.
The last part  of the evening was a Flamenco show and have dinner.  The Flamenco dance is a very traditional style of dancing which mixes traditional customs, dance moves and passion.  Then it was off to the hotel and some sleep.
