Yesterday morning, we woke up and packed our bags for Hue (pronounced w-AI). En route, the grade 7s visited the spectacular Marble Mountains. We learned that there are five mountains in total, each one named after an element: Kim (metal), Thuy (water), Moc (wood), Hoa (fire) and Tho (earth). These mountains boast spectacular views and many cave entrances. The students used their flashlights to explore two caves on the largest mountain, Thuy. After 1 hour in the mountains, our tour guides provided each student with an ice cream treat of their choice, yum!
Upon arrival in Hue, students were given the opportunity for a swim on the hotel’s 11th floor and a chance to relax before hitting the town! All 51 of us were presented with a cyclo (three-wheeled) bike and a driver who enthusiastically took us through the streets of Hue. As the sun began to set, our cyclo tour guides dropped us off at a Royal dinner restaurant. Students were given traditional Imperial clothing and impersonated kings, queens, princes and princesses of the royal court. We were served in Imperial style and were entertained by a live music. It was also Kikys birthday so we dressed her up as the Imperial Queen and celebrated with cake. Happy birthday Kiky!<img class="image-responsive aligncenter size-full wp-image-4133" src="http://www.tis.
