Macao 2: Local CAS Program

Appreciating the Natural Beauty of Japan

  Nara, Japan

Posted March 15, 2016 by Jason Liu

Welcome back to our continuing adventures through Japan for the grade nine experience week trip.

Tonight, we are staying at a more remote hot spring hotel and out wifi is a bit more sporty than it has been at the previous hotels. As a result, this entry is being tediously typed up on a phone.

Today was a slightly more laid back day, with fewer attractions to visit, but the day was certainly still loaded with adventures. The first stop was to Nara Deer Park and the Todaiji temple within the park. I’m sure our students will have their own personal stories to share about their close encounter with the deers of the park.

This would adventure was followed up with a sushi lunch. The students were fascinating and intrigued by the sushi conveyor system and the fact that they could order food from a touch screen and moments later, there would be a direct delivery of their ordered food coasting down the track towards them. The prizes won to encourage putting used plates down the waste chute was also a great novelty to some students.

In the afternoon, we went back into Osaka to check out the grand Osaka castle. Students were given the time to venture to the very top of the castle for a stunning views of Osaka downtown or peruse around in the nearby good trucks and gift shops.

Our adventures ended earlier today than other days to allow time to travel to our current hot spring hotel. After spending the rest of the afternoon to unwind, a traditional Japanese style dinner was served. The meal was given all around rave reviews.

In the evening, the students were given time to finally take a dip into the hot spring. Upon exiting, most studentd felt relaxed and drained from yet another full day of adventures.

After one final stop tomorrow morning, or group will be flying back to Macau. Our flight NX855, is due to land in Macau at 7:45pm. Please be at the airport at the appropriate time to pick up your child.

Thank you for following our trip adventures these past few days, as we have enjoyed sharing our adventures with you. The students will undoubtedly return home with a newfound respect and appreciation for Japanese culture, bags of souvenirs, and loads of amazing stories. Don’t forget to check back again for our final day recap!
