Macao 2: Local CAS Program

Having a Blast

  Macau, Macau SAR China

Posted November 17, 2014 by Mr. Chignall

We are happy to announce a safe and unforgettable first day. As we approached the scenic lake, the students excitement reached a fever pitch. Dragonfly greeted us and we were reunited as if we were family. We were greeted with a smooth boat ride and an array of scrumptious dishes for lunch. With their bellies full, the students were allowed to unpack and rejoin their new activity groups for team building challenges. This gave many of them an opportunity to meet students from the other classes and form budding friendships. With all of that energy expended, the sounds of their hunger echoed through the valley. Fortunately the aroma of BBQ wafted through the air and guided us to our annual Dragonfly feast. Students nestled around the grill and were able to roast morsels of succulent meat and vegetables. You could hear the sizzle of the juices hitting the flames. This was a fantastic opportunity for students to talk with each other over the events of the day. The night concluded with the Dragonfly Challenge which consisted of various group challenges such as the display of hidden talents, team chants and recreating scenes from movies. As the cool, crisp air filled their lungs, you could see their eyelids begging to drift to dreamland. All of the children retired to their rooms, falling fast asleep, excited for another activity filled day.
