Macao 2: Local CAS Program

Thrills and Grills

Seoul, South Korea

Posted March 10, 2014 by Sandra Kuipers

Day 2 in Seoul saw the high school students take over Everland, a theme park very much similar to Ocean Park, but without all the sea life.

Fortunately, after yesterday’s full menu, everyone was tuckered out and able to catch some zzzzzzz’s before our 10 am departure to the park. Everland was approximately an hour bus ride away and again, most of the group squeezed in some more sleep!

Everyone spent the day on their own and packed in as many rides as possible for 6 hours. The weather was extremely sunny and cool, perfect for being outdoors all day. Everland had rides for everyone and the cooler temperature kept the crowds away, but not from the wet log ride! The line for the log ride was quite long considering it was sooooo cool out.

Dinner was a short bus ride away at a Korean BBQ restaurant. It was definitely NOT a haven for vegetarians! The meat was a plenty and the sizzle could be heard for miles. Before we left, the restaurant had a spray bottle full of perfumed freshener to cover up the smell of BBQ on our way out. Again, everyone stuffed their guts and caught a quick nap on the way back to the hotel.

Tomorrow is a full day of being “Koreanized” as we’ll be making kimchi, dressing in traditional Korean dress, playing at a waterpark/steam room and finishing with the famous Nanta show!
