Today we started with a good breakfast at the hotel. As we all shook off the timezone change, we got onto the bus and prepared for our first day in Moscow. Our first stop was Sergiev Posad. The cool weather was a bit of a shock as we saw the blue tops of the church. We explored this site and saw orthodox Christians worshiping. On a side note, Tim found a new job as a Russian translator.
We then had a good Russian lunch that left everyone full. This led to the quote of the day: ” You are not supposed to eat all the sour cream in one spoonful.” On a different note, the quote from day one was “No I didn’t lose my boarding pass…I am waiting for an upgrade.”
With full stomachs, we went onto the next stop. We walked with the dead in the Novodeviehy cemetery. We went to Swan Lake and saw great views of Moscow at Sparrow Peak. We then went to the Circus. We saw tigers, lions, horses and lots of acrobatics. All in all, a great first day.
