Day 5: Leeches
Today was probably the most exciting day we had we started off the day with everyone remembering how many leeches they got last night during our night walk in the jungle. CoCo was the winner with the most leeches. Some students were a little stressed out about the leeches and I think they might have had a hard time sleeping last night just thinking about these strange little worm like creatures.
We had a relaxing morning with a group breakfast and then we packed our bags and drove back to the city. Good-bye jungle. We arrived back in Sandakan and checked back into the Four Points Sheraton. Everyone was excited to return to fast and reliable wifi!
We explored the city, visited the markets, had a look in the mall, ate some ice cream and then hit the pool. It was a fun day in the hot sun. We went out for dinner together at a local restaurant and we all tried nasi goreng an Indonesian fried rice dish. Some people liked it and others did not. After dinner we wondered through the mall to look for souvenirs and more ice cream. We also explored a local supermarket and I think everyone decided to purchase some Sabah Tea. We hope this will be a good gift to bring back to Macau.
