This morning the grade 8 students in group 2 made a three course Thai meal for 31 people. It was delicious. We started by breaking open coconuts to extract the cream. Did you know that coconuts have to ripen for six months before you can do this?Pictured here is the very work-intensive traditional method for extracting the cream. It’s like all other forms of group work in which one person does most of the work while others watch. The meal consisted of soup, red curry and a banana pudding. Can’t wait to hear how the jungle cooking was for group one.
Here is some more local flavour…We’re far from home, but we’ve been made to feel very “at home” here.
Looking forward to some Thai food cooked by Alfaaz!! Great experience, have fun!
