Hi All,
Our final full day in Taiwan started off with a visit to the town of Jiufeng high up in the mountains outside of Taipei. Students were ushered through the bustling alleyways of Jiufeng and did some sightseeing and shopping in this quaint little area. Lunch was had at a nearby restaurant with some very well received dishes, including the much-prized chicken nuggets.
After lunch, the group went to the old street at Ping-shi. The site had an active railroad line running through it with many little shops bordering each side of the railroad line. The students took some time to write wishes and positive messages on some paper lanterns before the lanterns were lit and released to float up into the misty afternoon sky. There was a general sense of amazement and wonder as each small group released their lanterns with their messages off into the sky hoping for good fortune in the future
.
After Ping-shi, was a quick stop by the old Jingtong train station before heading to the Kee-Lung Night Market. It was agreed upon that the students would not be getting dinner this evening and had to navigate the night market to find their own dinner. The students were very excited at the prospect of eating whatever they desired and just about all the students found their way back onto the bus, being thrilled with what they had taken in for dinner.
After a long bus ride back to the hotel, the group is now settled for the evening. The experience week trip wraps up tomorrow with a final visit to the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall before lunch and then a send-off at the airport. We will update from the airport if there is a delay but otherwise you can expect the flight to arrive in Macau at 5:25pm. The kids have enjoyed their experience week trip but sure will be glad to be coming back home tomorrow.
See you at the airport!

So you guys got to write some wishes today! Do you think the wishes will come true? Where do you think the lanterns will go after you release it to the sky?
Jacky Ieong says
