Boys
It was an entertaining back-and-forth match between the TIS boys and the IVY boys from Taiwan. The Tigers took command late into the first set to break a long deadlock and take the set 25-18. In the 2nd set, IVY seemed to find a higher gear and rallies hard. The boys fought hard but ultimately dropped the set 17-25. The boys started the 3rd set strong but IVY just wouldn’t go away. Riding a final wave of momentum, the Tigers pulled through to win the set and match 25-18, 17-25, and 15-12.
Currently the boys are against YCIS, having won the first set 25-20.
Girls
The TIS girls came out of the gate slowly, allowing IVY to take early control of the game. After a well-advised timeout call by coach Cheung, the TIS found their legs and surged ahead of IVY on some strong serving taking the first set 25-21. The second set was all Tigers, with relentless offense and shutdown defense. The Tigers finished strong, winning the match 25-21, 25-9.
The girls have finished their game vs. YCIS. The Tigers feasted on the young team from YCIS winning 25-7, 25-12.
Today’s recap with pictures will be posted shortly.
