Macao 2: Local CAS Program

Pigging out in Taichung

Taipei, Taiwan

Posted March 13, 2012 by Sandra Kuipers

This morning we got up early and left our hotel in Taipei for our last day in the city. First we went to the National Palace Museum and saw many different historical artifacts from the country and China. It seemed the highlight was a jade cabbage. Afterwards, many of the students visited the gift shop and we were back on the road.

Then we went on a two hour long bus ride towards central Taiwan and the city of Taichung. There we went on the Houfeng Bikeway and all students got a chance to ride their bikes along the scenic river. We’re glad to report that no students suffered any major injuries. A few students did not know how to use the bikes so they rode along with the bike experts: TIS teachers.

From there we went to the Fengjia Night Market and did some shopping. After that we went for a large and delicious dinner of BBQ. Many of the students have enjoyed the food on the trip so far. We’ve been able to try different types of Taiwanese food.
