We have had an amazing 2 days at the “Voices of Our Elders” International Youth Leadership Summit (IYLS). The students have had the priviledge of listening to many incredibly inspiring speakers; to having many insightful discussions, and to connecting with bright, enthusiastic youth from Calgary and ChongQing.
They spent the first day at Forest Lawn HIgh School where our students met in their small groups and listened to scholars discuss many things including, apathy.
Later that evening we experienced a ‘Calgary Hitmen’ hockey game.
Today, TIS students travelled to Blackfoot Crossing and participated in sessions related to social justice, leadership, native issues, poverty, 21st century technology, goal setting, etc. We all left feeling inspired and ready to tackle many world issues.
