We have had a fantastic two days.
On Monday, we spent the day touring Calgary with our friends that we met in Macau last year at the YNow Conference. We visited many key sites within the city limits; Fort Calgary, through downtown to the Chinese Cultural Centre, and up to an older neighbourhood for a panoramic view of the downtown core and the Rocky Mountains. From there we went to Peter’s Drive-In for lunch, Canada Olympic Park, Western Canada High School (where we showed the video we had created and had a tour of the school) and finally to Chinook Center (the largest mall in Calgary) for a few hours of shopping.
Today, Tuesday, we were whisked to Kananaskis country for some fun in the snow! We had a perfect day; great temperatures (-1 degree celcius) and lots and lots of snow! Some of our girls made ‘snow angels’ for the first time and many students enjoyed throwing snow at each other!! Later in the afternoon, we all strapped on skis and tested our skiing skills! Please see the pics below!
Tomorrow the International Youth Leadership Summit (IYLS) begins!! We are all looking forward to meeting new friends and sharing our learning with them! In the evening we will attend a Calgary Hitmen hockey game in the Saddledome!! Another busy, exciting day ahead!!
