Macao 2: Local CAS Program

The Adventure Begins!

Guilin, China

Posted May 16, 2011 by Sandra Kuipers

Monday started off grey and overcast, yet by the end of the day it was clear and sunny. Our group headed off to learn the art of making traditional Chinese fans. Once they had practiced, students were given their own fan to paint. They were delighted with their results, and by week’s end they’ll have the finished product ready to take home. After lunch by the riverside, we headed off to the caves where we learned about stalactites and stalagmites. Before leaving the caves, many students played in a mud bath, and later most students enjoyed the natural hot springs. After dinner, all the students joined together for the evening Light Show.
