Macao 2: Local CAS Program

Kayaking and Visiting a Local School

Guilin, China

Posted May 18, 2011 by Sandra Kuipers

Mid-week Wednesday, after breakfast we headed towards the river for a morning of kayaking. Once students received the kayaking lesson, they were quickly into the water and on their way. Most got the hang of this activity rather quickly. Along the way the tour guide introduced a couple of water gamesthat were quite fun to play. Once we finished, we boated towards a small village were we had a roadside picnic. The highlight of the afternoon, was visiting a local country primary school where students were eager to give the gifts they had brought. After a bi-lingual quiz game, everyone shared in outdoor playtime. New skipping ropes, badmintonsets, soccer balls and bubble were a hit with all the students. It was truly a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Tonight, students will have the opportunity to do some shopping in town. Tomorrow we head off to the infamous rice terraces of Guilin.(Sorry, the photos are on the previous post)

I think there's a job there for me,I'm good with children and I pamper the teachers to a fault. The sights and the travels you've shared is truly amazing and exciting. I am so jealous that you and others were so commited to your work and you are finally getting rewarded for it. You have worked too hard and hurt to many times to not deserve this wonderful time. I'm so proud of you my friend! And extremely jealous! Teehee!
