Hi All,
With tired muscles from a day of biking and kayaking, group 9 D got up to watch the sunrise on the water. We then had breakfast on the houseboat and packed up.
Instead of paddling, we were treated to a delightful long boat ride back to the shore where we were met by vans to take us on a trek through the rural Chiang Mai countryside. It was a rewarding hike, as we ended-up at a Hill Tribe Village mostly made up of Burmese refugees. Student got to buy some local handicrafts and see what life is like for this distinct group. Afterward, we made our way back for a lunch outdoors.
It was now time for students to show their huge hearts. We traveled by van to a hill tribe school where students were able to give their donations to a group of Kindergarten students. The TIS students played soccer, helped them draw pictures, and just spent some quality time together. At the end, each TIS student gave a donation of school supplies, toothbrushes, cups, and clothes to each individual child. It really sank in for the TIS students because they knew that it was their hard work fundraising, that made this experience possible. It was a great feeling of satisfaction.
See you tomorrow!
PS. The teacher who took pictures for this day was not able to upload them, but they’ll be coming soon!
