Top Finishes for Tigers Basketball at ACAMIS in Beijing

Posted February 2, 2015 by Bing Han

From January 29 – 31, the high school boys and girls basketball teams travelled to the British School of Beijing for the 2015 rendition of the ACAMIS Gold Division basketball tournament. After a gruelling weekend of intense competition, both teams finished with 6 wins and 1 loss, respectively.

The girls rolled through round robin play, remaining undefeated after beating host BSB in overtime in the last round robin game, claiming top ranks going into the playoffs. However, a heart-breaking loss in the semi-finals, missing the game winning shot by inches, meant our ladies would have to wait till next year to claim the crown that is rightfully theirs. Picking up the pieces for the bronze game was not easy, but our girls were poised and confident as they beat BSB again to claim the bronze medal in style.

The boys lost their very first match against HKA, igniting a fire within that would not die. The squad went on to win all of their remaining games throughout the tournament, claiming their status atop the ACAMIS basketball community for a second year in a roll. Our boys were relentless in their pursuit of their goal and it showed through their play.

The coaches would like to congratulate both teams for their outstanding tenacity, passion, resolve, and sportsmanship. We are all so proud to be your coaches. Go Tigers!
