TIS Defends Tennis Championship

Posted October 25, 2015 by Mr. Chignall

The TIS Tennis Team has defended their boys championship from last year, winning the ACAMIS tournament this weekend in Beijing. We were met with cold. wet weather, however that did not dampen the spirits of the players. The duo of Terence Tche and Alberto Dos Santos continued their marvellous play and once again wowed the audience. After cruising through the pool play going undefeated, the skill level ramped up in the Quarterfinals. Alberto showed his mental toughness coming back from 4-7 and a match point down to win 9-7 in his singles match. Both boys won their singles resulting in a pass to the semis. In the semis they met a tough UISG team however, once again both boys showed composure and their continued improvement, once again sweeping the singles to make it to the finals. In the finals they faced the top DCB team and it was an intense battle in both singles matches. With enough firepower, both boys ended up clinching their singles matches, and won the doubles as well, resulting in a perfect record for the second straight year. They won with poise and class and I could not be a more proud coach. Well done boys and GO TIGERS!
