For the first time in TIS history, ACAMIS soccer supremacy has been claimed by the Tigers. In late April this year, during a weekend of cold and damp weather, the TIS high school boys soccer team tore through the competition at the ACAMIS Gold Division Soccer Tournament in Dalian going undefeated throughout the event.
The young team, featuring only 1 grade 12 student, had to face battle-hardened squads from Beijing, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Dalian and Hong Kong. But the Tigers relentless pursuit for excellence both on and off the field soon set the tone for everyone at the event as they rolled through the competition and eventually taking top honours after beating Hong Kong Academy in the finale.
What’s more impressive than the wins and losses was the team’s professional attitude towards teammates, opponents and officials. Our players carried themselves with maturity, confidence and poise all weekend long and in addition to their championship trophy, walked away for the Sportsmanship trophy as voted by participating coaches. What an honour!
Congrats to our 2017-18 boys soccer squad!
