Senior Boys Soccer Takes Silver at ACAMIS

Posted April 22, 2016 by Bing Han

The senior boys had a difficult opening match against BSB at the 2015-16 ACAMIS tournament in Dalian, China losing 5-0 but quickly bounced back with 3 straight wins the following day over HKA, ISNS, and HIS. In their fifth and final round robin match, the boys used their superior passing skills to overcome a determined DAIS squad with a 2-0 win. The shutout win was exactly what the team needed heading into the semi-finals against ISNS later that day. After the opening touch, TIS wasted no time in securing a 3-1 victory over ISNS en route to the finals against their rivals, BSB. Under cold and rainy conditions, the Tigers put up a strong fight in the first half scoring a late goal but BSB’s squad proved to be too strong as they went on to win the ACAMIS championships for a second year in a row. Nevertheless, TIS showed that they are a force to be reckoned with on the soccer pitch and are now more determined than ever to capture the ACAMIS title next year. Honourable mentions go out to Bono Cheong and Oscar Wong for their athletic prowess and skillful play over the course of the tournament. Congratulations on your best ACAMIS finish to date, Tigers!
