After a nearly month-long break between games, the Jr Girls Basketball team returned to the hardwood on Wednesday night (April 1) against Santa Rosa de Lima.

The ladies showed no signs of rust as they took an early lead. But Santa Rosa wasn’t about to bow without a fight. The game saw many lead changes as both teams fought for the upper hand. With 1:30 to go in the game and the Tigers down by 3 points, co-captain Chao In Lam hit a huge shot to bring the game within 1 point. Then with 00:13 left on the clock, co-captain Elaine Fong was put on the free throw line with a chance to put the Tigers up by 1. Showing confidence and swag beyond her years, she splashed both free throws without hesitation, giving the ladies their third victory of the season!

Currently, the Tigers have a record of 3 wins and 1 loss. With only 2 games left in the DSEJ regular season, our girls are poised to be the first basketball team from TIS to make it into DSEJ playoffs!
