Athletes from Grade 6 and 7 competed in the Pearl River Conference this past Saturday 11th October against teams from around the Pearl River Delta. The tournament was the first time that the boys played as a team and quickly found their groove. Although the team didn’t win any of their games, they worked hard and were competitive with all the teams. They fought hard and stayed in the game by keeping the scores close. In one game, they were losing 2-0 and came back to tie the game 2-2 with only five minutes left. The rival team scored a goal in the last minute to win but not without beating out our strong defensive end. The TIS Jr. Boys team made each team work for their ‘W’ on the score sheet.
Throughout the tournament, the boys represented TIS honourably by keeping their cool in heated situations, helping opponents up when they fell to the ground and being great sportsmen in general. If you see these boys around our school, commend them on their hard work and sportsmanship. Coach Cleland and Coach Foreman are extremely proud of the boys and the way that they represented our school at the tournament.
