BALL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT RULES
- Games will be played as 5-on-5: 4 players and 1 goalie on the court per team. Teams must have at least 1 female player on the court at all times. The goalie does not count.
- Each game will be 30-minutes in length. Two 15-minute periods (running time) with a 2-minute break in-between periods. Teams will switch sides after the first period.
- Stop-time will be used in the last 2-minutes of the game if the score differential is within 2 goals or less.
- Each team is allowed one 1-minute time-out per period.
- Substitutes are on the fly. The player entering the court must wait until the player exiting the court has fully left the court. There will be a substitution zone in between the two benches at center court – players must substitute in this zone.
- Wins count for 3 points, draws for 1 point, and losses for 0 points.
- Round Robin tie-break rules:
- Head to head result between tied teams
- Goal differential between tied teams
- Most goals scored between tied teams
- Goal differential during all round robin games
- Most goals scored during all round robin games
- Coin toss by tournament director
- If a game is tied at the end of regulation in the playoff round, the following overtime system will be used:
- 2 minutes of 4-on-4 overtime
- 2 minutes of 3-on-3 overtime
- 2 minutes of 2-on-2 overtime
- 3-player shoot-out
- Sudden-death shoot-out
During the 3-player shoot-out at least one shooter must be female. In sudden-death shoot-out, the first 3 shooters may not shoot again until all other players on the team has had an opportunity to shoot.
- If a ball leaves the court, the team that did not put it out will pass the ball in to play. Opposing players must stand two-stick lengths away from the passer. The player has 5 seconds to pass the ball into play.
- There will be 3 face-off spots: center court and one at the center of each defensive zone. Face-offs will be taken in the “N-H-L” stick-slapping procedure. Face-offs are used:
- at the start of each period of play
- after goals
- when penalties are called
- when the goalie covers the ball for more than 5 seconds
- Penalties are called when a player commits a foul (high-sticking, tripping, holding, hooking, roughing, interference, slashing, too many men, holding/walking with the ball). The player shall be sent off the rink for 2 min, or until the opposing team scores a goal.
- A penalty shot will be awarded if:
- The defensive team deliberately displaces the goal during the course of a breakaway or in the last two minutes of the game
- Falling on the ball, picking-up the ball, or holding the ball, when the ball is within the goal crease
- Throwing a stick or any object in the defending zone in the direction of the ball.
BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT RULES
Most recent FIBA rules will be applied, except for the following amendments
- 5-on-5. Teams must have at least 1 female player on the court at all times.
- 4 x 6 minute quarters with stopped time. 1 minute break between quarters and 2 minute break at halftime.
- Overtime periods will be 3 minutes and begin with a jump ball.
- Size 6 ball will be used.
- Unlimited substitutions are permitted on any whistle (but not between free throws).
- Possession Arrow: A jump ball will begin the game followed by the use of a possession arrow on any subsequent jump ball situations.
- Round Robin Tie-Break Rules:
- Head to head result between tied teams
- Point differential between tied teams
- Overall point differential during round robin
- Coin toss by tournament director
SOCCER TOURNAMENT RULES
Most recent FIFA rules will be applied, except for the following amendments:
- Games will be played 7-on-7 (1 goalkeeper + 6 field players). Teams must have at least 1 female player on the court at all times. The goalie does not count.
- Matches shall be 2 x 15 minute halves with a 5-minute break at halftime.
- Unlimited substitutions are permitted.
- The offside rule shall NOT be applied.
- Wins count for 3 points, draws for 1 point, and losses for 0 points.
- Round Robin tie-break rules:
- Head to head result between tied teams
- Goal differential between tied teams
- Most goals scored between tied teams
- Goal differential during all round robin games
- Most goals scored during all round robin games
- Coin toss by tournament director
- In the playoff round, if teams are tied at the end of regulation time, the following over-time system will be used:
- 5 minutes of extra time (No “Golden Goal”)
- 3-player shootout
- Sudden-death shootout
During the 3-player shoot-out at least one shooter must be female. In sudden-death shoot-out, the first 3 shooters may not shoot again until all other players on the team has had an opportunity to shoot
