For those of you who remember Thai Thor (far left in photo) as our Laotian exchange teacher from last year, you’ll be happy to hear he’s doing well and in his last semester of university. TIS will be hosting two new teachers from Laos for an 8 week internship this spring: Vansay Somboun (middle) and Bouakham Vanhnachack (right). TIS has partnered with GLOBE, a Canadian non-profit organization and My Library in Luang Prabang to facilitate the exchange program in which TIS teachers mentor educators from developing countries and assist them on their journey to becoming practicing teachers in their home country. Vansay and Bouakham will be working alongside TIS teachers, learning teaching methods based on inquiry. They will also get the opportunity to learn about Macao’s culture, customs and language.
