Last night, TIS hosted a BBQ to welcome the athletes taking part in this year’s Intellectually Disabled People in Asia Conference. 22 of our student volunteers ranging from Grade 4 to Grade 11 teamed up with volunteers from Macau Anglican College and played a few friendly soccer and basketball matches with the athletes to get the evening rolling. Despite the change in weather, it was an evening enjoyed by all.
Later in the week, some TIS students will also be assisting as official score keepers at the TCG Special Olympics Golf Masters, which is one world’s biggest golf tournament for people with intellectual disabilities. Some of our advanced golf students will have the privilege of partnering up with some of the 75 athletes who are representing 17 countries.
