The TIS Volunteer Team is doing amazing things! They often go unnoticed, but this group of proactive, committed and global minded students frequently give up their free time and weekends to contribute significantly to the community and to help others in need.
Coordinated by the very active Counselling Department at TIS under the umbrella of Student Services within the school, the TIS Volunteer Team consists of students from the ages of 15 to 18. The group’s mission is to serve the local community and strive for every opportunity to assist local organizations and work with people in need. With the support of DSEJ, our students are able to enhance their skills and knowledge of serving others through various volunteering activities, training and experiences.
The number of events that these students have been involved in and organized continues to grow. The activities range from being Anima volunteers (a Macau based animal shelter group) to fundraising at a number of events including the Caritas Bazaar, Green Market Day event and Jam handmade workshops. The volunteer team has also delivered food to the elderly, been involved in the Special Olympics Inclusive competition and the elderly Day Care Center visit, worked with Kai Chi School volunteers, served children with special educational needs, joined poverty trips, nurtured plants in the mountain, and conducted fundraising for UNICEF, Caritas Macau, Richmond Fellowship and various other NGOs in Macau.
We would like to highlight the contributions of these wonderful young adults who volunteer their time and effort, while also studying at TIS, to improve the lives of others. Thank-you for all that you do!
