Help beat cancer by joining us at the Run of Hope taking place this Sunday Nov 5th at Four Seasons Hotel Macau. Families can get together to participate in a 3 km walk or a 5 km run. The best part is whilst doing this, we are raising money for cancer research. How meaningful is that?
Did you know that the Run of Hope is called the Terry Fox Run in Canada? This was because a man known as Terry Fox braved a run across Canada. Amazing, isn’t it? What is even more amazing is that this inspiring young man was recovering from bone cancer and ran with a prosthetic leg in 1980! He did it to raise money to aid in finding a cure for cancer. So how did this event come to Macau?
Chairman and founder of the Four Seasons Hotel Isadore Sharp was extremely moved by Terry’s cause, decided to jump in to lend a hand in support. Since then, every single Four Seasons Hotel worldwide have been involved in this great cause annually. They raise big funds every single year, and the awareness spread like wild fire! Macau was no exception, and TIS is proud to be part of it!
For the past 4 years, TIS has been partners with Four Seasons Hotel Macau. With the event just a few days away, students and their families have been signing up to take part in this fantastic event. As mentioned earlier, you don’t even need to run, walking is fine too; what really matters is that you are contributing to a great cause! The money raised will be donated to a local orphanage (Evangelize China Fellowship) as well as towards the Kiang Wu Hospital cancer program.
Cancer is tragic, however every contribution big or small can help make a difference. Isadore Sharp has a goal to help rid of cancer one day, and we can help realise that goal!
The Run of Hope is a day about helping in every way we can and by participating you are making the dream become a reality. Hope to see everyone there this Sunday!
