In his recent appearance on the TDM Talk Show, Howard Stribbell proudly shared the news about TIS receiving the International Baccalaureate (IB) World School status, the school’s progress and achievements since opening 15 years ago, the unveiling of the new North Wing and possible future plans.
He started by talking about the IB program at TIS which will be offered in Year 11 and Year 12 in addition to the Alberta Curriculum program that TIS is currently offering.
Howard also talked about the school’s commitment to inclusive education in which TIS has a well qualified inclusive department consisting of specialist teachers, specialist therapists providing behavioral, speech and occupational therapy.
Other topics being discussed in the talk show included the Chinese program at TIS and the one of one laptop program at TIS where every student from Grade 7 to 12 brings a laptop to school everyday. Howard stressed on the importance of digital learning platforms and social media for our students to be competitive in this day and age.
Finally, he talked about the addition 11, 000 square meters of specially designed space and classrooms in the new North Wing where the kindergarten and high school students will occupy, a one of a kind two floor library and the black box theatre.
