The last day of the DSEJ Swimming Championships took place on Sat, Jan 18th at the Macau Olympic Aquatic Centre and it turned out to be a very good day for TIS swimmers. Coco Iong won two more gold medals in the 100m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke (for a grand total of 3!). Coco was just over 0.5 seconds off of the meet record in the 100m Free Style. Bela Tang, in the last meet of her high school career, won a bronze medal in the 50m Freestyle. Donald Wu received a bronze medal in the 50m Butterfly (to add to his other bronze medal on Jan 11). Danielle Varga broke the 50 second barrier in her 50m Backstroke with an excellent start, while Emily Varga posted a personal best time in the 50m Freestyle. Matthew Smith, now a seasoned pro at swim meets, confidently swam the 50m Backstroke. Ethan Hou swam a long 100m Freestyle in the first event. Reo Tang came in 5th in the 100m Freestyle as well. Amy Wu competed in her first swim meet in the 100m Breaststroke and gave a great effort. Way to go Tigers!!
