The Secret To A Great School Year.
It’s been a great start to the school year. We are excited to welcome so many new families to the TIS community! Want to know the secret to having a great school year? It’s simple – get involved and get connected. As a thriving community, there is flurry of activity happening at the school everyday.
Students who actively engage with their school, class, teacher and classmates perform well on their studies and build positive relationships. For students, getting involved means:
1. Trying out for a sport team
2. Signing up for an extracurricular activity
3. Join the choir or school band.
4. Audition for the school play.

6. Try something new.
Parents can aslo get involved!
1. Check out your child’s class website.
2. Come out to curriculum night and meet your children’s teachers. Build a positive relationship with them and establish open lines of communication.
3. Volunteer! We love our parent volunteers. Many classes use volunteers to assist with guided reading. Other volunteers assist in the library.
4. Join TISPA. Our parents association is key part of the TIS community. They put on special events and stayed informed of the happenings at the school.
Get Connected! There are many ways to stay in touch at TIS.
1. Like our page on Facebook.
2. Join our email list.
3. Meet people face to face. Come out to any of these great events: Curriculum Night on Sept 12, TISPA Welcome Back on Sept 13, Parent Coffee Time on Sept 19 and the Mid Autumn Festival on Sept 19.
Getting involved and staying connected has never been easier. I look forward to seeing you at one of the many TIS events coming up in September!
