Each year, the month of April is set aside as National Poetry Month, a time to celebrate poets and their craft.

Division 2 classes have focused on the works of poet, Kenn Nesbitt. Every student chose a poem from Kenn’s website, www.poetry4kids and memorized it.

Students in grades 2-6 recently presented their memorized poem to their class. The top two students who had the best presentation score based on volume, pacing, pronunciation, posture and memorization will be presenting their poems at the annual TIS Poetry Celebration on Tuesday, April 26th at MUST Auditorium. Each winner will receive a children’s book of poems.
