The IB Art students will showcase the breadth of 2 years of their artwork in March.
Their art is conceptually driven based on the theme of “Forbidden”. These works of art include various media: Fashion, Textiles, Painting, Printmaking, and Fine Arts Sculpture. Each student has worked with their own individual interpretation of the theme that ranges from elements of ‘Buddhism and Superstition’ to our ‘Complicated Relationship with Food’ to ‘Body Dysmorphia’ to ‘Animals as Pet, Entertainment or Food’ to ‘Perceptions of Beauty’ in different cultures.
Each student will plan and curate their artworks in a gallery showcase, and classes will be invited to view their collections in March. This exhibition documents the journey and development of the skills, concepts and ideas within each student’s work over this first Art and Design IB course cycle culminating in some stunning work across a range of techniques and mediums.
