In August 2016, TIS began using a new school-wide education management system called Gibbon. This change will affect many aspects of student information in the school – admissions, grades, assessments, behavior and attendance.
What are the main features of Gibbon?
Gibbon supports a wide range of functions, all within one system.
Teachers can use Gibbon to take attendance, enter marks and write report card comments. It also provides a great set of tools to plan their curriculum, share lesson plans, assign and collect homework, as well as assess & provide feedback. Gibbon supports standards based assessment.
Students can use Gibbon to access their grades, view lesson plans & homework assignments, view their timetable, access various learning materials and view resources shared by their teachers.
Starting in 2017, parents will be able to access Gibbon to view their child’s grades, assignments, assessments and attendance details. They will also be able to update personal information, find staff contact information and track their child’s academic records.
Stay tuned for more updates coming soon.
