Planning for the First Day of School

Posted on August 24, 2016

Are you ready for the first day of the 2016-17 school year?!  Here’s a summary of important dates for next week:

Mon, Aug 29 PK Interviews
Tues, Aug 30 Gr. 10-12 First Day of School

Gr. 7-9 Orientation Day 10 am –  2pm

PK Interviews

Wed, Aug 31 Gr. 7-9 First Day of School

Gr. 4-6 Orientation Day 10 am – 2 pm

PK Interviews

Thurs, Sept 1 Gr. 4-6 First Day of School

SK-Gr. 3 Orientation Day 10 am –  2 pm

PK Staggered Entry from Sept 1-9

Fri, Sept 2 JK-Gr. 3 First Day of School
Mon, Sept 12 First Full Day for PK

During orientation, parents and students can drop by the school to check class lists, meet their new teachers and see their classrooms. Students are not expected to be at the school for the entire time and we ask that parents accompany their children for orientation.

The drop-off/pick-up system will remain the same as it was in June. The Kiss ‘N Ride lane between the MUST track and Phase II will be open as will the walkway leading from the Kiss ‘N Ride drop-off point to the school’s main entrance. We advise parents who have children in PK-Gr.3 to use Kiss ‘N Ride for drop-off and pick-up as it is a safer option for younger students.

The green gate by the COD traffic circle will be open from 8:00-8:30 am every morning and from 3:00-3:30 pm every afternoon. When dropping off your child, please ensure you pull up to the furthest point along the curb and are using the inner most lane to avoid students having to walk across multiple lanes of traffic. We ask that you follow the instructions of the TIS staff members who will be on duty.

We look forward to seeing everyone next week!
